Last year's sold-out event was a sparkling success and this year's is going to be bigger and better. This time, we're proud to be in our own neighbourhood, just off the boardwalk in the Beaches. Get your tickets while you can!
🎶 The Vibe
Think coastal chic meets celebration for a cause. Guests arrive to a cocktail reception at the beautiful and elegant Beach Club on the shores of Lake Ontario. This will be followed by a cocktail style -dinner and dancing to The Beach Men, Canada’s premier Beach Boys cover band — bringing California sunshine energy to the Toronto waterfront. A live D.J will follow so guests can dance the night away!

Dr Beggs is Director of the Manton Center for Orphan Disease Research, Boston Children’s Hospital
Dr. Beggs leads one of the world’s foremost research teams focused on understanding and treating rare genetic muscle diseases — including Selenon-related myopathy, the condition that affects Penny and children like her. His lab’s work represents real hope for families worldwide, and Penny’s Promise is proud to help fund his groundbreaking research.

Rare Disease Advocate & Founder, Elpida Therapeutics
When Terry’s son Michael was diagnosed with SPG50 — an ultra-rare neurodegenerative disease — he refused to accept that there was no treatment. His relentless advocacy led to the creation of the world’s first gene therapy for the condition. Terry’s story is one of grit, community, and unstoppable hope — showing what’s possible when families and science come together.
🎁 The Silent Auction, cork pull & raffles.
Our silent auction is a highlight of the evening, featuring exclusive travel experiences, local art, fine dining, and one-of-a-kind items — all donated by generous partners who believe in our mission to fund a cure for Selenon. Guests can bid throughout the night, with all proceeds going directly to Penny’s Promise research initiatives.
We'll also have an extensive cork pull with fabulous bottles of vino at a fraction of retail prices, a 50/50 raffle, and other beautiful items for sale.
🌊 The Meaning
Every ticket, every bid, and every song sung along to supports life-changing research for children with rare diseases. The funds raised at the Gala go directly to researchers who are actively working to find a cure or treatment for Selenon-related myopathy, the rare genetic disease that inspired Penny’s Promise.
Right now, there is exciting and promising progress happening in the labs we support — from groundbreaking genetic therapy studies to innovative work uncovering how Selenon functions in muscle cells. These efforts are bringing us closer than ever to potential treatments that could change children’s lives.
